The City Manager¬†serves as the administrative head of the City of St. Helena overseeing the general administrative management of the City. The City Manager is responsible for implementing¬†policies, rules, regulations and laws adopted by the City Council and for the overall management of the City‚Äôs approximately 70 employees. City management staff, including the Police Chief, Public Works Director, Planning Director, Library Director, Recreation Manager and Finance Director report to the City Manager, who in turn reports directly to the elected Mayor and City Council.
The City Clerk¬†handles a wide array of administrative responsibilities for the Council and City Manager.¬†The City Clerk¬†ensures¬†that all necessary material, including agendas, minutes and¬†staff reports¬†are prepared for Council meetings. Additionally, The City Clerk handles other Council matters and City elections.
