Multi-Cultural Committee August 3rd, 2016 Special Meeting

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: April 6, 2016 (will be provided at the meeting)
3. PUBLIC FORUM: An opportunity for the public to directly address the Committee on items of interest to the public that are not listed on the agenda. Any person addressing the Committee should provide his or her name and address, and limit comments to five minutes. Because of restrictions imposed by the Brown Act, the Committee may not engage in substantive discussion, nor take action on matters not described on the agenda.
4. SCHEDULED MATTERS:
¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† 4.1 Planning report on the September 16th Mexican Independence celebration to be held in Lyman Park. (Patty Gonzalez & ¬†Milagros Castro)
¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† 4.2 Future status of the Multicultural Committee:
Report by Janis Gay on her meeting with Mayor Galbraith concerning the future of the Multicultural Committee.
Members‚Äô discussion about the Committee‚Äôs mission and its future direction. (Janis Gay & Milagros Castro)
¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† 4.3¬†Recruitment initiatives to fill vacant Committee positions. (Janis Gay)
¬†5. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS BY MEMBERS AND STAFF: Reports by staff and/or Committee members on items of general interest. Brief questions for clarification may be posed and answered, and Committee members may request that items be placed on a future agenda. Except under certain circumstances, the Brown Act prohibits any other discussion or action by the Committee.
6. DISCUSSION OF ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THE NEXT MEETING AGENDA
7. ADJOURNMENT: Next meeting will be Wednesday, September 7th, 2016.
